Michael Lau, originally from Hong Kong has 25 years of finance experience, being 5 years with PwC, 2 years with Jardine Matheson and 18 years with Coca-Cola. My previous role was CFO of COFCO & Coca-Cola JV in China, where I headed 900+ finance associates overseeing a USD3.2 billions business in China from 2021 to 2024. Before that I was the controller of the Coca-Cola global concentrate and R&D operations where I led the finance operations in 21 countries. I am qualified as a certified public accountant in China, Hong Kong and the UK.
In 2025, I am taking a career break for family reasons. I am interested in volunteer work where I can share my expertise in finance, strategic leadership and career development. I am particularly good at cultural differences and obtained a deep understanding of the China market through the past 4 years as an executive member in COFCO, one of the China largest national owned enterprises.
Michael was referred to Henry by our 2024 new member Ellen Or. Michael also attended two of our business events and joined us as a member in early 2025. Michael’s diverse experiences with branded global firms would be a plus for HKAA.
